Dragonfly exhibit update – A change of appearance

During the summer, we are currently operating our Thursday, Saturday, Sunday 11 am – 5 pm opening hours. That doesn’t mean some of us aren’t still hard at work behind the scenes. Our most recent acquisition, “the Dragonfly” is currently undergoing a change of appearance, and as we can see from the pictures supplied by the team, the change has been swift!

Dragonfly Progress – 4th – 8th August 2017

Our particular helicopter took its first flight in 1953, as part of the Fleet Air Arm.

Locally, RNAS Lossiemouth (HMS Fulmar) was the 1st shore station to equip its SAR Flight with this particular type of aircraft in Mar 1953.

More information will follow when we collate it.
