Highlander RIV – our latest visitor attraction

We are delighted to say that our Highlander RIV is now open and ready for visitors. RIV or “Rapid Intervention Vehicles” are used at airports as first responder to an emergency. Our vehicle has come all the way from the western isles! Visitors will be able to climb on board to pull on jackets and helmets or maybe sit behind the wheel of this mammoth machine! In the presence of a Morayvia supervisor, visitors will be able to stand behind the roof mounted Carmichael foam spreader and pretend to tackle a blaze!

During it’s days of active service, our Simon Gloster Saro Highlander Protector MK2 4×4 RIV was known as Fire 1. Kindly donated by Highlands & Islands Airports Limited (HIAL), we are delighted to add this fine machine to our collection.
